That I know for sure? Don, Youmu, Washu and Mikey. Leo, Raph and Minato suspect something. They have some kind of weird ability to read energy, and I'm pretty sure they know I'm not normal. The same goes for that creep Xellos.
[Danny grimaces.]
This whole energy sensing thing makes keeping certain secrets a lot more difficult.
[Danny sinks to the floor as well, leaning back against his bed.]
At first it was habit. And I was stuck without my powers anyway. Who would have believed me? And then.... Mom arrived here. And there was this huge ghost attack that started making people hallucinate all kinds of things.
And now? Well, Jazz is here. And you're here. What if Val or Dad or anyone else arrives next? And that's not even getting into the resident ghost panickers.
[He scowls darkly.] Oh, he totally is. And a total fruitloop. He had tea parties with exploding penguins. In my apartment. Which he moved into without asking. And he admitted that he's been spying on me.
[Sam waves her hand at him dismissively as he starts talking about 'resident ghost panickers,' as if silently agreeing with him. Yeah, she hadn't considered that much happening.]
Right, right. This place is tough enough without your dad going berserk and trying to squeeze the ghost out of you.
[She sighs and leans back against the door, eyebrows crooking curiously at him.]
Exploding penguins? And I wasn't invited? Alright, maybe he's crazy, but he's still pretty nice.
Don't remind me. I've only had my powers back for a month and I've already been attacked by a crazy shovel wielding country and some kind of ghost girl who wanted to find out if she could break the spirit of a spirit.
[Danny crosses his arms stubbornly.]
Did I mention the part where he's been spying on me? And seems to enjoy making people miserable?
[Her expression? Maybe a little frustrated. She's trying not to be, but -- she's used to charging into danger with Danny and Tuck, not being constantly reminded to be careful, to stay safe.]
The short version? Freezing temperatures. Lots of snow. Hardly any heat. Then the supplies stopped coming in and we started running out of food. And a blizzard hit. Parts of most of the apartments collapsed in the storm and a lot of people got hurt, but we couldn't get them through the snow to the hospital.

-- and, hey! Xellos isn't a creep.

I like making people miserable, too, but you've never held that against me.

Date: 2010-10-09 03:12 am (UTC)...Tell me that again in a few months.
Well, that's because you're you. But its different when he does it. Its hard to explain... but he just feels wrong.
Re: [commentlog]
Date: 2010-10-09 03:38 am (UTC).. trust me. Nothing beats Lancer's tests.
[She pauses, though, a little unsettled by his words.] Look, I've already promised you that I'll be careful. Have a little faith in me, alright?
Re: [commentlog]
Date: 2010-10-09 03:48 am (UTC)...Actually, I think I'd take Lancer's tests over what happened last winter.
...I'll try. Just make sure you stay careful. There's a lot of different kinds of danger here.
