ABILITIES: Danny is half-ghost, meaning he has access to all of a ghosts abilities without being dead. He can fly, walk through walls, fire beams of ectoplasm from his hands and eyes, generate ice, and turn invisible.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND:
Danny was the only son of a pair of extremely eccentric ghost hunters and inventors. When he was younger he often wished that his family was more normal. Let's be honest, its hard to have a decent social life when your parents seem to be determined to live up to their reputation as the town loons. That all changed when he was 14 and his parents finished their greatest invention, a machine that would drill a permanent portal into the dimension where ghosts lived.

Predictably, the invention didn't work. Being the helpful son he was, Danny pulled on a hazmat suit and went into the machine to see if he could fix it while his parents were out. After a moment of clumsiness Danny accidentally turned the invention on and was trapped inside as it opened a portal into the ghost zone. The accident left him with the ability to transform into a ghostly version of himself.

After a few encounters with the other side of his parent's enthusiastic obsession with ghosthunting and the appearance of attacking ghosts at his school, Danny realized that he could never tell his parents about his ghostly side and that someone had to stop the ghosts. He began to live a double life, fighting ghosts and avoiding ghosthunters as the ghostly superhero Danny Phantom while maintaining his human life as ordinary Danny Fenton.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY:
Although he dreams of being accepted by everyone, Danny dislikes being in the spotlight. He can be very cynical and sarcastic at times and is highly aware of all the ironies that seem to rule his life. He is also very stubborn and overprotective when it comes to his friends and family. He accepts the need to hide his true identity - and the way everyone treats both his human and ghost sides - with a kind of reluctant amusement. At the same time he can be very laid-back about his life. He adores puns, especially bad ones, and is fond of using them during his battles. Danny's favorite pastime now is flying.

Danny feels a deep responsibility towards the safety of everyone around him. He has the power to protect his city and the world from the ghosts, but he is keenly aware that that same power could be dangerous. Danny's greatest fear is turning evil and becoming the same as his evil alternate future self.
WORLD: Technologically, Danny's world is fairly normal for a small town of the present day, apart from the ghost technology. His parents and other ghost scientists have invented a broad range of devices specifically aimed at detecting, attacking and defending from ghosts. These range from adapted household items like the Fenton thermos and the Ecto-cooker to major equipment like a ghost assault vehicle and a transforming Op Center.
