...Mom is back.  And listen, I never really talked about this before, since I never thought Mom would come back here.  But you can't mention anything about ghosts to her.  Especially Phantom.  She's a ghost scientist - and she thinks her job is to dissect and destroy ghosts.  All ghosts.

And she thinks Phantom is her enemy.

...No. As far as they're concerned I'm completely human. And it needs to stay that way.

Mom hunts ghosts and she studies them. And by study, I mean dissect them and/or put them through lots and lots of painful experiments. And she thinks all ghosts are evil troublemakers. Especially Phantom. What was it she called me once, an odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness?

Bad press. They were already ready to blast me back to the ghost Zone the first time they saw me. But then one of my ghost enemies came back for revenge. He said, and I quote, that he would 'make the human world into the prison I escaped'. So he staged a ghost invasion, overshadowed everyone around me except for my parents, and held a news conference that named me as the ghost behind everything. Then he overshadowed the mayor again and dragged me out in front of a news camera long enough to frame me for kidnapping the mayor.

Took me more than a year to get to the point that people were even willing to consider I might not be a bad guy after that. Mom and Dad are still firmly in the 'all ghosts are evil' camp.

I'm definitely going to try. Not that I can ever predict that kind of thing.
