40 Ghosts [text/action; locked to roommates] backdated to Dec. 20

[Danny sits on his bed tightly holding a cloth to his shoulder and trying to clean the salt out of his shoulder.  He'd made it back to his room. Eventually.  Who knew getting shot with salt would hurt this much?  He just lies there for a moment, breathing harshly and clutching his shoulder, before he forces himself to reach for his communicator.

This sucked.  He just knew anyone he asked for help would freak out.  But of course he just had to get shot in a spot he couldn't bandage on his own.

Jazz?  Don?  Are you home right now?

To a genius, anyways. And only sometimes.

That's something, I guess.

It's something. ... See you in a minute.

[identity profile] invisibill.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, see you. Bring clean water.

Already one step ahead of you.

[And Don knocks at the door a minute later, first aid kit under his arm and holding the water bucket with the same arm to leave one free.]

Danny?

[A few moments later, Danny opens the door, one hand tightly holding a wet cloth to his shoulder. It's hard to see anything past his shirt and hand, but what skin is visible looks heavily bruised.]

Hey, Don. Sorry about bothering you for this again.

It's no problem.

[Don immediately looks worried, but doesn't speak again until he's inside and the door is closed.]

How did you reinjure your shoulder?

New ghosthunter in town. Though this one seems to prefer blasting ghosts with shotguns and salt.

Great. Well, at least you don't have to worry about boredom.

[Don goes to open the first aid kit on the bed after he sets the water bucket on Danny's desk.]

All right. Let's see it.

I think I can safely say that boredom is the one thing I never have to worry about.

[Danny sighs, and removes the layers of cloth to show that not only has the mostly healed burn reopened, but the entire shoulder area is covered by a rapidly darkening bruise.]

Shell.

[Don turns around to see the wound properly, eye ridges furrowed in worry.]

I'll have to definitely clean this out and rebandage it....

I've been trying to get all the salt washed out, but it's kind of an awkward spot to reach.

[Don frowns for a moment in thought and shakes his head.]

The only way I can clean that out properly is to pour water over it. Think you can sneak into the bathroom? I have the water in the bucket sanitized from earlier, but we don't want a puddle in the middle of the floor.

[In response Danny vanishes.]

Thought so.

[Don gives a thumbs up and collects the kit and bucket back up, opening the door to head out. He looks around to make sure that no one's coming and keeps it open long enough for Danny to slip through. Then, it's off to the bathroom.]

[Danny follows behind, invisible and intangible.]

[Don doesn't have the same abilities as Danny, but he's still a ninja. He sneaks over to the bathroom, making sure that it's empty before entering and letting Danny follow.

He closes the door after a long moment and lets out a sigh of relief.

There. I think we're in the clear.

[Danny reappears near the counter.]

You don't have to keep doors open for me, you know.

Sorry. Couldn't help but be polite.

[Don closes the toilet lid and sets the bucket on top of it, then grabs a big plastic cup.]

I'll need you to sit on the edge of the tub and make sure your shoulder's over it to avoid dripping on the floor.]

[Danny shrugs with one shoulder.]

Just pointing it out.

And I can do that.

[He makes his way over to the tub.]

[Don brings the cup and bucket closer to Danny.]

I'm afraid that this is going to hurt. ... You ready?

Re: Commentlog

[identity profile] invisibill.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
As ready as I'll ever be. Just get it over with.

All right. Hold still.

[Don slowly pours the cup of water over the wound to clean it out. He knows that it'll take multiple cups to get it clean enough to bandage, so he's glad that Danny has a high pain tolerance.]

[Danny grits his teeth and fights the urge to turn intangible.]

[Don inspects the wound once the cup is empty.]

I think I'll have to do this a few more times. [A pause.] ... So tell me about this new ghost hunter.
